Hear TG Spaces

One piece of music in eight different places. Choose a space, choose mono or stereo, press play.

Every clip opens with the space named aloud, so this works by ear without reading the page.

The music is "A Beautiful Soul" from the album Drifter. None of these rooms were recorded.

Ready: Dry, no plugin, stereo input.

What to listen for

Dry against anything else. The dry clip has no plugin on it. Everything else is the same twelve seconds through a room.

Mono against stereo. Mono sums to one channel going in, as happens to a vocal, a bass or a single mic. The room still returns stereo, that widening is the room, not the source.

Open field. Almost nothing comes back. A ground reflection, then silence, because a field has no walls. Most reverb plugins cannot do this at all, since there is no room to have recorded.

PA in a bar. Not a room around the music, a loudspeaker playing it, aimed across a room, with the speaker's own response in the way.

Cathedral. Eight seconds of stone. Listen past the end of the music.
